Use These Driving Tips to Stay Safe in the Winter

When you live in an area that gets plenty of snow and ice during the winter, it is necessary to prepare your vehicle. Here at Spradley Kia, it is important to us to help our customers stay safe during extreme weather. Before the winter sets in, it is helpful to get your vehicle serviced, which will ensure that you don't have any worn hoses, leaks, or parts that need repairs.

Be sure that your vehicle's windows are free of snow, ice, and dirt before you depart. When it snows, it can be helpful to practice driving on snow-covered driveways and back roads, but you should avoid main roads until you know how your car handles on icy roads.

You should also stock your vehicle with a broom, ice scraper, and snow shovel. Cat litter and other abrasive materials can be handy if your vehicle gets stuck in the snow. Jumper cables, a flashlight, and flares are also necessary when you are driving in harsh weather conditions.
